The Las Pinas City government is targeting to inoculate around 6,000 minors aged 12 to 17 years old a day with the aim to finish pediatric vaccination by the end of November.
Vice-Mayor April Aguilar asked the city’s vaccination teams to exert more effort in order to reach the targeted 65,000 children’s population in the city that needs to be inoculated against COVID-19.
Dr. Julie Gonzales, officer-in-charge of the City Health Office (CHO) and City Immunization Program Coordinator Dr. Eleen Gumpal reported to Vice-Mayor Aguilar that they are targeting to conduct inoculation to about 6,000 minors per day in the seven identified vaccination sites in the city.
Dr. Gonzales reported that currently, the city government recorded a total of 45,000 minors who have registered for the general pediatric vaccination under the city’s “Bakunahan sa Kabataan” program.
She said to increase the vaccination per day, the SM Center Las Pinas with 600 capacity, and SM South Mall with 800, have increased their recipients to 1,000 daily.
Mayor Imelda Aguilar asked all the minors aged 12 to 17 years old to get the jab under the city government’s “Ligtas na Las Pineros, Lahat Bakunado” for their protection.
Aguilar said she wants to use all available vaccines procured by the city government for the inoculation of city residents, young and old.
She said the city government still continue to urge not only minors but also all the unvaccinated residents in the city to avail of the free vaccine jabs being offered by the local government against COVID-19.
