NYC opens applications to AVYS Conference 2021


The National Youth Commission (NYC) is now accepting applications to the ASEAN Virtual Young Scientists Conference (AVYSC) 2021.

Under the theme "Smart Cities for a Sustainable ASEAN Community," AVYSC is projected to bring together about 160 young scientists across Southeast Asia to share practical knowledge, learn relevant skills, build regional networks, and address the current challenges of the region.

Hosted by the National Committee on Youth of Vietnam, the conference will be held from December 8 to 9.

NYC will be nominating five delegates to the event.

The application is open to Filipino citizens aged 18 to 40 years old, Master's Degree holder, engaged in scientific research in the fields of basic science; applied science; engineering/infrastructure; information and communication technology platforms and digital technology; social sciences; arts and humanities; and medicine and healthcare.

Interested applicants must also be able to make a brief presentation of their scientific research or activities on their field, proficient in written and spoken English, with Philippine passport or Philippine Statistics Authority-issued birth certificate, must be willing to be a NYC volunteer, and must be willing to attend and participate in the whole duration of the program online.
