Kiefer Ravena fires 27 but Shiga falls anew to Chiba

Kiefer Ravena and the Shiga Lakestars came up short once again against the defending B.League champion Chiba Jets after an 89-83 road defeat Sunday, Nov. 7 at the Funabashi Arena.

Ravena came off the bench to score 27 points but the Lakestars couldn’t overcome the Jets, who swept the two-game weekend series.

The Lakestars fell to 6-5 after losing three straight and four of its last five games.

Ray Parks Jr. and the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins got back at the Gunma Crane Thunders with a 100-90 away win at the Ota City Sports Park Citizen Gymnasium.

Parks had 12 points, five rebounds and two assists to help the Diamond Dolphins improve to 6-5.

The rest of the Filipino players who saw action absorbed losses in both first and second divisions of the 2021-22 Japanese league season.

Thirdy Ravena and the San-En Neophoenix went down, 91-80, to the Shibuya Sun Rockers despite bouncing back from a four-point outing by scoring 13. The Neophoenix fell to 3-8.

Dwight Ramos produced eight points and seven rebounds in the Toyama Grouses’ 87-74 defeat to the Kawasaki Brave Thunders while Kobe Paras scored only five points as Niigata Albirex’s woes continued after a 71-63 defeat to the Ryukyu Golden Kings.

Juan Gomez de Liano scored 12 points but Earthfriends Tokyo Z remained winless after falling short against the Fukushima Firebonds, 77-73, while fellow second division player Kemark Carino didn’t score in the Aomori Wat’s 100-76 loss to the Koshigaya Alphas.

Back in the league’s top-tier, Matthew Aquino didn’t play in the Shinshu Brave Warriors’ 79-75 loss to the Akita Northern Happinets.

Javi Gomez de Liano watched from the bench as the Ibaraki Robots won over Osaka Evessa, 81-72.
