Man kills 5 using armalite in CamSur


CAMP OLA, Albay – Five individuals were killed and another one wounded when a suspect shot the victims using an armalite rifle in Milaor town, Camarines Sur province Friday afternoon.

Police Major Malu Calubaquib, spokesperson of Police Regional Office 5 (PRO-5) identified the victims as Romeo 72; Samuel, 21; Ruby, 9; Gabby, 6 and Noela, 9, while wounded is Hades John, seven years old who sustained gunshot wound in his legs. The victims are all residents of Brgy. Tarusanan in Milaor town.

The Suspect was identified as a certain Arthur De Leon who is at large as of press time.

Initial investigation disclosed that the suspect entered the house of the victims and shot everyone in the house using the said killer weapon.

"Currently, the suspect is now the subject of a joint manhunt operation and is being persistently pursued by the members of the Camarines Sur Police Force," Calubaquib said.

Calubaquib added that the suspect and the victims are relatives who had an old grudge due to a land dispute. This was confirmed by the other relatives of the vicitims requested anonymity with the Manila Bulletin.

One of the relatives narrated that in 2020, the brother of the suspect killed a brother of one the victims in Friday's massacre.

"Sa lupa pare, kamag anak din ng hipag ko. Nagtanim ng sama ng loob yung suspect dahil away sa lupa. Una pinatay kapatid ng hipag ko in a close range sa ulo ang tama. Year 2020 pa yun, ngayon bumalik gusto talaga silang ubusin," he narrated.

He also said that another victim died in a hospital while being treated.
