Gunma rallies past Ray Parks, Nagoya

Ray Parks Jr. and the Nagoya Diamond Dolphins resumed their B.League campaign with a 101-92 away defeat to the Gunma Crane Thunders Saturday, Nov. 6.

The Diamond Dolphins kept things close until the final four minutes when the Crane Thunders pulled away to claim victory in front of their home fans at the Ota City Sports Park Citizen Gymmnasium.

Nagoya fell to an even 5-5 record in the first of their two-game weekend series.

Parks scored eight points but shot 3-of-9 and added four rebounds in 23 minutes for the Diamond Dolphins.

Scott Eatherton’s 23 points and Coty Clarke’s 19 points were also not enough for Nagoya.

Trey Jones and Michael Parker inflicted most of the damage in the homestretch for Gunma, which registered its fourth win in 10 outings.

Jones scored 28 points while Parker added 16 points on 8-of-11 shooting.
