Dr. Risa Caldoza, Mrs. Tourism International 2017, graduated as a reservist of the Philippine Army during the closing ceremony of the BCMT 01-2021 Matatag at Army Reserve Command National Capital Region Regional Community Defense Group last Oct. 14.
The BCMT is a military training course conducted by the Philippine Army through the Army Reserve Command. It is an entry-level training course undertaken by Filipino citizens wanting to enlist in the reserve force.
"I'm 2017, I waved the Philippine flag in an international pageant stage. Now, I proudly carry it again as a reservist in the Philippine Army. I offer this to my late grandfather Col. Urbano Caldoza," says Caldoza.
A dermatologist, Caldoza has been encouraged by her friends to try politics because of her charisma and kind-heart. But she says she's not born to rule the crazy world of politics.
"I love politics, but I don't want to be a politician. I’d rather help people, and I don’t have to be in a position to do that. I still do medical missions in Pasay City and other programs," she says.
Asked what makes her aesthetics clinic center popular, Risa says: "I believe that I have to walk my talk. So if I espouse beauty, I have to look that way also."
