The regulatory body made the announcement after the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-MEID) de-escalated the National Capital Region (NCR) to Alert level 2 from Alert level 3 effective Friday.

With this, the regulatory body reminded moviegoers to continue observing strict minimum public health standards “while keeping in mind the MTRCB film ratings as guide when choosing age-appropriate film content.”

“In closing, the MTRCB affirms its policy of respect and deterrence to government instrumentalities operating within the framework of their mandates as dictated by law,” Benaldo said.

“In the case of the resumption of Cinema operations, it shall be the IATF-MEID and the Local Government Units who shall determine implementing guidelines to uphold health and safety controls for the viewing public,” he added.
