Medical Depot halts San Juan's streak in Filbasket

Medical Depot halted San Juan’s three-game winning streak with a 69-67 victory in the Filbasket Subic Championship at the Subic Gym Wednesday.

Simon Camacho shot 19 points and grabbed 16 rebounds while Christian Morale chipped in 19 points and six boards for Medical Depot, who improved to a 2-2 win-loss tally at the middle standings.

Medical Depot trailed 54-51 after three quarters but grabbed the momentum late in the game for the win.

Alvin Abundo scored 15 points, while Adrian Nocum and Arvin Gamboa finished with 12 and 11 points in losing efforts for San Juan.

In other matches, the Davao Occidental Tigers crushed the FSD Makati-Army, 82-69, to improve to 3-1 and tie with San Juan and AICC Manila on top.

Gab Dagangon and Chris Lalata unloaded 10 points each for the Tigers, who exploited FSD Makati-Army’s 23 turnovers by converting it to 28 points.

Jaybren Motol was the lone double-digit scorer for FSD Makati-Army with 13 points.

Burlington EOG Sports also plunged into the winning column after an 86-83 triumph over Mtrans Buracai de Laiya-Batangas City Tanduay.

John Paul Maguilano scored 17 points and hauled nine boards while Jeymark Mallari and Jhan Mernal added 11 points as Burlington improved to 2-2.

Mtrans-Batangas City dropped to 2-2 despite Ken Bono firing 21 points and Chito Jaime adding 18 points.
