“This is our official position on the expiration of Lovelyz's exclusive contract. The exclusive contract between our company and the group Lovelyz members will expire on November 16, 2021,” the agency said.

It added that after a long period of in-depth discussion and deliberation, the seven members decided to prepare for a new start.

“Among the Lovelyz members, Baby Soul re-signed a contract with us based on the trust we have accumulated over a long period of time. As an assistant of Baby Soul, who has been with us for a long time, we will spare no effort to provide full support for Baby Soul's new leap forward and active promotions,” it said.

Woollim added, “We would like to thank the eight Lovelyz members who gave their best and made the company shine as an artist under Woollim Entertainment for the past seven years, and we sincerely support the members in their new start.”

“Also, we would like to thank all the fans who supported, cared for and loved Lovelyz. We ask that you continue to send lots of encouragement and support to the Lovelyz members who are on a new starting line, and sincerely thank you for your warm love and warm interest in Lovelyz over the past seven years,” it said.

Lovelyz made their debut on Nov. 17, 2014 with the release of the album “Girls’ Invasion.” Their last album was “Unforgettable” that was released on Sept. 1, 2020.

Lovelyz members also issued handwritten letters thanking fans for their support.

“Lovelinus , thank you so much for cherishing, loving, and supporting Lovelyz for the past seven years. As I write this, it breaks my heart to think that many Lovelinus who are reading this will be upset and worried. We, Lovelyz, are walking on our own new paths, but I think we will be one forever,” said Mi-joo.

“Our Lovelinus...Thank you for making us shine and make wonderful memories. Please support and love Lovelyz a lot in the future. I'm so sorry. Thank you and I love you,” she added.
