Demonkite was one of the key cogs for the Season 8 newcomers which impressed with a playoff appearance following a 6th spot finish at the end of the regular season. RSG fell to Nexplay Solid in the play-in for the upper bracket in the playoffs.

Despite the short stint in the playoffs, Demonkite did enough to get the nod for the season’s best rookie citation after a solid debut season that saw him register impressive numbers of 5.55 KDA, 4.16 kills and 5.14 assists per game.

Demonkite bested fellow rookies in Omega Esports’ Christian “Raizen” Sumagui and Nexplay’s Johnwin “Hesa” Vergara. The RSG jungler got 66 points to top Raizen and Hesa who finished second and third with 31 and 16 points respectively.

The 18-year-old rookie held his own against the top junglers in the league. His RSG team was even dubbed as the King Slayers after taking down several titlists in Bren Esports and Omega in the regular season with Demonkite putting up phenomenal performances.

Demonkite was also KDA leader of the regular season with 5.82 KDA.

According to the MPL Philippines, the Best Rookie was chosen based on several criteria. The Season’s Best Rookie should have played in Season 8 and had better performance and stat lines as compared to other rookies this season.
