Bella Oposa of Barangay Bel-Air, Malyne Lorayes, Salcedo Community Market Consultant, Maria Carmen Guerzon, President, Women of Bel-Air Foundation, and Graham Coates, First VP and Head of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls.

Mr. Graham Coates, First vice president and head of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, said it best, “Since 2004, Salcedo Market has been a go-to weekend destination for shopping produce and artisan products. We are honored to give this beloved market a new home at the heart of Makati City.” And yes, you read it right, from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. every Saturday until December 18, you’ll find the Salcedo Market at the Paseo Center.

That’s really great news for both the Salcedo vendors, and for the regulars who would troop to the market over the years. I know I’ve had my visits to the Market, and always found it a wonderful opportunity to try out the dishes of budding food entrepreneurs, and to discover quality artisan products that were ideal for gift-giving or utilizing at home.

Salcedo has always been a well-curated selection of produce, food and beverages, pantry staples and local products; with over 120 partner concessionaires. On the Saturday that the Salcedo Market officially moved to the Paseo Center parking lot, I managed to drop by and was immediately engulfed by the crowd—cementing my impression of just how well-patronized and followed this Market has been through the seventeen years of its existence.

There were fresh and frozen seafood, meat and poultry, vegetables and fruits. Then there were home-cooked dishes, gourmet products, pastries, artisanal bread, coffee, and the Market has been a go-to for organic produce. Flowers, crafts and home essentials were on display; all welcome additions for the casual shoppers.

And given the COVID Heath situation isn’t over yet, a strategic partnership between the Salcedo Market and Pick.a.Roo was forged. Through Pick.a.Roo, more than 15 Salcedo Market merchants were available for the less than an hour pick up and delivery. First-time users get 20 percent off for a minimum purchase of P600, if they use the code: PICKSALCEDO.

For those ready to do physical visits to the Market, feel secure knowing there are strictly enforced safety protocols. It’s all part of making the Salcedo Community Market enjoy a rebirth, and come alive, while keeping it safe and up to date via technology. It’s great that Megaworld Lifestyle Malls is making this happen.
