S. Leyte requires vaccination card in government offices

TACLOBAN CITY — With the increasing number of vaccinated individuals against coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the provincial government of Southern Leyte has required all persons to present their full-vaccination cards in entering government offices.

Governor Damian Mercado said that it has been observed that the effective and intensive vaccination program of the province resulted in the decline of COVID-19 cases.

“In joining the Department of Health, the doctors and nurses, and the call of the government, there is a need to strengthen and intensify our campaign for vaccination to all Southern Leyteños,” he stressed.

The vaccination cards are required in government transactions such as permit applications, securing clearances, certifications, and endorsements effective October 25 (Monday).

Out of the 279,790 doses of vaccines received by the province, their healthworkers were able to inoculate 61 percent or 170,783.As to the number of vaccinated, 107,718 or 34 percent were vaccinated with 1st dose of COVID-19 vaccines.
