BACOLOD CITY — Mayor Neil Lizares III of Talisay City, Negros Occidental has again tested positive for COVID-19.

This was confirmed by the local chief executive in a Facebook post over the weekend.

Lizares first contracted the virus last month, after he attended a fellowship meeting with some local chief executives and provincial government officials in Talisay City, wherein two other mayors were also infected.

Lizares, in his recent Facebook post, said he had mild symptoms. But, his family members and household also tested positive for COVID-19.

Lizares assured that he is taking every step possible to ensure that he will stay in good health and will recover again successfully from the infection.

He also asked for prayers especially for those infected with the virus, and urged the Talisaynons to get vaccinated against COVID-19 for protection.
