Movie and television producer Joed Serrano has vowed to push for the rights of the LGBTQ community and prevent discrimination as he filed his certificate of candidacy for senator in the May 2022 elections.

Ako po so Joed Serrano tumatakbo bilang senador,” said Joed in a speech recently. (I am here to give space and importance to my peers who are gay).

Joed believes that he is the first aspiring candidate who is vocal about his sexuality. He wanted to run for president, but gave way to fellow celebrity Isko Moreno.

And I guess I’ll be the first aspirant candidate to be very vocal na ako po ay isang bakla,” he said.

Joed slammed critics who compare gay people to animals.

“I was born this way. Sabi nila salot kami at malas. Walang sino man ang puwedeng mag judge sa amin. Only God can do that. (Some people say gays are jinx. No one has the right to judge us,” he added.

Joed also thanked President Duterte for his efforts during the pandemic.

“I would like to thank our dear President.

Joed also said he will seek ways to lower the electricity and water rates if elected senator.

“Let us put smiles on their faces and see the silver lining. I am confidently beautiful with a big heart. Mabuhay ang sandatahang kabaklaan!” Joed added.

Joed has appeared in several movies and TV shows including Maria La Del Barrio, MMK, That’s Entertainment, Pangako Sa’yo, Hiwaga sa Balete Drive, Chick Boy, etc. He produced the movie “Anak Ng Macho Dancer” which came out early this year.
