Paras made it interesting after hitting a floater that tied the game at 75-all with 10 seconds left. However, Gardner scored on a sweeping hook over the outstretch arms of Tzshilidi Nepawe to win the game at the buzzer.

Gardner finished with game-high 23 points as he led his squad to a sweep in its two-game series on the road against Niigata.

Paras was once again missing in action as he only mustered six points and five rebounds on a 3-of-9 shooting from the field.

Despite the Filipino import’s struggles, Niigata was able to keep up with Mikawa which clobbered the home team with an 81-58 drubbing in their first game.

Niigata was actually ahead by three, 73-70 with a little over three minutes left in the game following an and-1 play from Rosco Allen who topscored Niigata with an 18 points to go along with 10 rebounds.

Mikawa however stringed five straight points, first on a trey from Avi Schaefer before Satoshi Nagano scored on a layup for a 75-73 lead. That set up the floor for Paras’ clutch basket which went for naught as Niigata absorbed its fifth straight defeat.
