The Pasay City government started the “Vacc to the Future” vaccination of minors aged 12 to 17 on Friday (Oct. 22) at the city-run public hospital, Pasay City General Hospital (PCGH).

Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano said the city has tentatively pre-listed 70 minors who are expected to be inoculated at the outpatient department of PCGH.

Rubiano said minors who are given priority for vaccination are those who are currently undergoing treatment or had sought consultation at the PCGH for various ailments and condition.

She said the city government decided to immediately conduct the vaccination of minors, especially those with comorbidities, to protect them from COVID-19.

The mayor also said the vaccination of minors was received warmly by parents in the city.

Rubiano said that she was happy the parents of the city’s children cooperated with the city government in registering their children for vaccination.

As early as August this year, Calixto-Rubiano had already expressed her support for the planned vaccination of minors.

She had said that she was alarmed by the spike in COVID-19 cases among children and pushed for their vaccination.
