Classic style, future tech

Vespa launches 2021 Sprint S

Despite being distinctly classic in style, Vespa is making strides to move into the modern age with the latest Sprint S, featuring a new TFT digital panel screen. This new signature element is designed to meet the needs of the modern world.

Like before, the new Sprint S is best distinguished by its very youthful lines, emphasized by a rectangular headlight. The LED lighting technology powers both the front headlight and the rear light. It comes with large 12-inch aluminum alloy wheels.

Besides the new screen, the new Sprint also gets some visual upgrades. It comes in choice of either a lavish Bronzo Antico steel body enhanced by the contrasting black finishing. Or it can be had in a Nero Opaco with bronze finishing. Another addition is the diamond-shaped saddle design.

As you can expect, whether you choose the Matt black (on bronze body) and bronze (on black body), they come with matching rim colors and stickers.

Powering the 2021 Sprint S is a one-cylinder four-stroke 150cc iGet engine. It’s air-cooled and equipped with electronic injection and 3-valve distribution. It’s governed by an ECU that has a barometric sensor, which ensures always optimum combustion under all conditions and at all altitudes and weather conditions.

Vespa fans are likely curious over the new TFT (Thin-Films Transitors) screen. Besides providing a digital readout, it also offers enhanced connectivity to the smartphone with the Vespa MIA system.

The Vespa MIA connectivity system allows you to connect your smartphone to the onboard electronic system of the Vespa Sprint S via Bluetooth.

Ridders simply need to download the Vespa app, (available for download in the App Store or Google Play for either iOS or Android mobile devices). Once a smartphone is connected to the Vespa Sprint S,  the TFT display will show all notifications regarding incoming calls and  messages in the center of the screen. The system also allows for the management of calls, thanks to the practical joystick located on the left-hand control block.

The app is also provides rider useful information regarding vehicle like status, riding parameters and travel statistics, which can be viewed on the smartphone.

The new Vespa Sprint S is now available at all authorized Philippine Vespa dealers at P245,000.
