It takes conscious efforts to cultivate positive habits which contribute toward success. Some may be simple, while others require more discipline.

The Benilde Well-Being Center (BWC) of De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde shares some life-changing habits noted by Probasco, adopted by most successful people from diverse fields.

Here are 10 pointers to remember.

Rise early

Wake up early to reduce stress levels. It brings about more time for work. Mornings may have less distractions. Notable early risers include Disney CEO Robert Iger, former Yahoo! CEO Marissa Mayer, and Virgin Group founder Sir Richard Branson.


Plot your goals. Set your priorities. Plan your next steps. Come up with a to-do list every evening to be prepared for the next day. According to Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsay, Sunday is an important time to organize the tasks for the week to come.


Avoid distractions. Meditate. Engage in breathing exercises. Take a breath and concentrate on it for three to five minutes.  Relaxation, whatever form it may be, comes more easily and naturally when one is organized.

Take action

A plan without action is nothing more than potential. While others are still reconsidering their next moves, successful individuals act quickly. They often and always take the all-important first step.

Personal care.

Do not neglect personal care. Prioritize diet, exercise, and hygiene. A subsection may have complex regimens. But for achievers such as Tesla Motors CEO Elon Musk, it can be as simple as showering. The magnate declared that it has the most positive impact on his life.

Positive attitude.

This may be a root cause of victory. Have empowering self-talk. Acknowledge and be grateful for blessings.


Exchange ideas. Recognize the importance of collaboration and teamwork. Surround oneself with fellows who inspire provide insight.

Be frugal.

Be economical with money and resources. Compare options. Negotiate. Do not overspend. Save more than what you spend.


Donate through charities or impart ideas. Volunteer. It does not need to cost you anything to support noble causes. Well-known benefactors include Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates and American personality Oprah Winfrey
