For the record, minors in the National Capital Region (NCR) are still not allowed to visit malls and parks under the prevailing alert level 3 classification of the region.
Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Chairman Benhur Abalos made this clarification amid the confusion that arises from the recent lowering of alert level in NCR from alert level 4 to alert level 3.
The Alert Level System (ALS), which replaced the region-wide quarantine classification scheme in NCR, was also implemented for the first time in selected provinces Thursday. The ALS remains on pilot status, however.
Meanwhile, the Department of Health (DOH) recorded more recoveries (5,934) than new cases (4,806) as far as the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) is concerned.
