The conflict between President Duterte and Senate has come to a head with the former challenging senators to make good their threat to slash the budget of government agencies by one-third, saying their conflict has worsened into a “showdown”.

Meanwhile, now that the decline in coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases is evident, Health Secretary Francisco Duque said the government would have to focus on regions or areas in the country where the decrease in infections has been slow.
