“Maraming maraming salamat po sa ngalan ng lahat ng bumubuo ng Valenzuela live community sa mga daan libong mga magaaral namin, sa mga magulang, sa mga guro.. sila talaga ang power sa likod nitong programang ito at patunay ito na kapag nagsama-sama ang buong komunidad, walang imposible kahit na may COVID pa (Thank you very much on behalf of all who made the Valenzuela live community possible, to the hundreds of thousands of our students, to the parents, to the teachers .. They really are the power behind this program and it is proof that when we work together, the whole community, nothing is impossible even with COVID) ,” Mayor Rex Gatchalian said in his acceptance speech.

The Galing Pook Foundation aims to recognize the projects and programs of the local government units (LGU) around the Philippines, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Tagalag Fishing village was also recognized by the award-giving body for providing livelihood to the residents of Barangay Tagalag, Barangay Tagalag is the eco-tourism zone of Valenzuela City.

“Ngayon ang tagumpay na ito ay patunay na hindi kailangan malaki para maging maganda hindi kailangan maging magarbo para maging matagumpay dahil ang barangay Tagalag ay simbolo na kahit na simpleng bagay pag pinagtulung tulungan ng komunidad kahit maliit yung barangay walang imposible (Now this success is proof that you don’t need to be big to be beautiful, you don’t need to be rich to be successful because barangay Tagalag is a symbol that even if it’s a simple thing, if the community helps, even if the barangay is small, nothing is impossible),” Gatchalian said.
