Ambuklao and Binga Dams in Benguet and Magat Dam in Isabela continue to discharge excess water from their reservoirs on Tuesday, Oct. 19, amid rains from the northeasterly surface wind flow, said the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
Based on the PAGASA's monitoring as of 8 a.m., Ambuklao Dam still has two gates opened at 0.6 meters.
Its water level was at 751.43 meters, which is just 0.57 meters below its 752.0-meter normal high water level.
Meanwhile, Binga Dam has one gate opened at 0.3 meters.
Its water level was at 574.30 meters, which is only 0.7 meters short of its 575.0-meter normal high water level.
PAGASA warned residents in barangay Ambuklao in Bokod, Benguet, and barangays Dalupirip and Tinongdan in Itogon, Benguet to remain alert against possible flooding.
The majority of water discharge from Ambuklao Dam flows into Binga Dam, which in turn, releases water to San Roque.
PAGASA monitored that the current water level of San Roque Dam in Pangasinan was at 281.83 meters as of 6 a.m.
Its normal high water level is 280 meters.
There has been no announcement yet from San Roque dam management that water will be released from the reservoir.
Moreover, Magat Dam in Isabela has one gate opened at 1.0 meter and releasing 468.17 cubic meters per second of water.
Based on the PAGASA's monitoring as of 8 a.m., Magat Dam's water level was at 191.82 meters, which is 1.18 meters lower than its 193.0-meter spilling level.
Residents living in the low-lying areas of Ramon, San Mateo, Aurora, Cabatuan, Luna, Reina Mercedes, Burgos, Naguilian, and Gamu in Isabela province were asked to take precautionary measures against possible flooding.
