Fire razes 11 houses in Antipolo City


A fire of still unknown origin razed at least 11 residential structures in Sitio Puting Bato, Barangay Inarawan, Antipolo City, on Sunday night, Oct. 17.

A report from the office of Chief Inspector Gilbert Valdez, the city fire marshal, said the blaze broke out at residential near a soft drink factory on Marcos Highway at about 8 p.m., gutting houses, mostly made of mix concrete and wooden materials.

The fire reached the second alarm before it was declared out past 9 p.m.

Volunteer fire trucks from Pasig City and Marikina City also rushed to fire scene to complement the fire trucks of the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-Antipolo City, the city government and the barangay, according to Fire Officer 1 Earl Eubion of the BFP-Antipolo City.

BFP-Antipolo has not received any report of casualty as of this posting.

The cause of the blaze has yet to be determined pending the result of the investigation, the BFP said.
