The coronavirus disease (COVID-19) situation continues to improve as the number of new cases dipped to below 7,000 for the first time in weeks, charting a path toward what the OCTA Research Group said would be a 5,000-level by the end of the month.

But health workers also expressed concern over the loosened restrictions as they noted that occupancy at hospitals remained high.

Fair weather will also be experienced in the country, unlike the past two weeks when two tropical cyclones, “habagat” or the southwest monsoon, brought heavy rains.
