Domagoso was asked by the media during the IM convention if he was aware that the DILG wanted to conduct an investigation into his event which the DILG cited as a possible “superspreader event.”

“They are entitled to do what they have to do. As far as Batangas is concerned, Senator Ralph Recto and the group and the city government of Lipa, they have followed all the procedures, all the health protocols as you can see in the spacing and so on and so forth. So, I do believe that due diligence was done by the province of Batangas and the city of Lipa,” responded Domagoso.

Also present at the event were Senator Ralph Recto, senatorial candidates Samira Gutoc, Carl Balita, Jopet Sison, vice president candidate Dr. Willie Ong, and Domagoso himself.

Domagoso has also been scrutinized by the DILG in the past and was presented a “show cause order” for alleged failure to comply with the standards set by the Anti-Drug Abuse Council’s standards in 2018. However, the show cause presented by the DILG was recalled in Aug. 2021. (Seth Cabanban)
