DOST Secretary Fortunato “Boy” T. de la Peña said DOST-X will turn over 11 RxBox devices to Bukidnon’s RHUs.

“The RxBox is a multi-component program (biomedical device, electronic medical record system and telemedicine training) which enhances the health system of the Philippines,” he said during his weekly report on Friday, Oct. 15.

Each RHU will receive one RxBox Telehealth device, one CPU, and one router for the deployment.

“Training will follow after the deployment process and RHUs will be required to establish a team that is composed of a doctor, midwife, nurse, and IT personnel,” the DOST chief said,

He said the RxBox teams of RHUs are expected to join the remote Super User Training to learn the proper handling and troubleshooting of the devices.

“The project aims to reduce child mortality, improve maternal health, and detect non-communicable diseases which consequently lead to better health for all Filipinos,” de la Peña said.
