K-pop superstars BTS will be holding their first in-person concert in two years in Los Angeles in November and December.
The Grammy nominee will have their “BTS Permission to Dance on Stage-LA” on Nov. 27 and 28, and Dec. 1 and 2 at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
According to Ticketmaster, the official ticketing website for the concert, all the tickets for the four shows are sold out.
"Due to overwhelming past purchaser & Verified Fan presale demand for BTS PERMISSION TO DANCE ON STAGE - LA, all shows are sold out & tickets are not available for the public onsale,” Ticketmaster Fan Support posted on Twitter on Oct. 10.
The tickets from Ticketmaster became available starting Oct. 5 with VIP purchasers of BTS’ “Map of the Soul Tour followed by regular purchasers of the tour on Oct. 6, BTS Global Official Fanclub members on Oct. 7 and general verified fan presale on Oct. 8. The general public onsale scheduled on Oct. 9 was cancelled as tickets sold out.
However, many fans are disappointed and angry at Ticketmaster for not being able to buy tickets to the concert. Tickets are now being resold online at exorbitant prices.
On Stubhub, a US ticket resale website, a ticket to the Floor B3 section for the Nov. 28 concert date now costs $50,000 while a Floor C3 section ticket is being sold as high as $21,865. A Floor C2 ticket for the Nov. 27 concert date is being sold as high as $39,515.
On Vividseats, another ticket resale website, a Field A4 ticket is being hawked at $12,506 each while a ticket at Section 526, the farthest from the stage, costs $1,053 each.
On RazorGator, a Section C2 ticket for Nov. 27 costs as high as $12,448 while a Section C3 ticket is being sold for $12,257.
Tickets to the BTS concerts are originally priced from $60 to $450 but with the popularity of BTS, many are reselling tickets to make quick money.
According to the SoFi Stadium website, the venue has 275 luxury suites and seating capacity of 70,000, which can be expanded to 100,000.
Fans going to the concert need to be fully vaccinated or must show a negative COVID-19 test result taken 72 hours before the concert.
“In accordance with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health order (effective October 7, 2021) all individuals 12 and older must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have proof of a negative COVID-19 test conducted within 72 hours before event start time, along with a photo ID with a matching name to enter SoFi Stadium. In order to ensure a COVID-safe event and compliance with LA County and state guidance, vaccination cards or negative COVID test results will be verified as guests enter the venue,” according to SoFi Stadium.
It warned that “the falsification or use of fraudulent vaccination or COVID-19 test records is a crime and may be punishable under Title 18 United States Code, Section 1017, and other applicable laws. Masks are required for all attendees. Masks can only be removed to actively eat or drink, after which they must be immediately put back on.”
