Agents of the Bureau of Immigration (BI) have arrested an overstaying Chinese national in a follow-up operation in Paranaque City.

BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said 43-year old Lu Runguo was apprehended by immigration intelligence agents in coordination with the Paranaque City Police.

Lu was the subject of a warrant of deportation issued in September for overstaying.

Records showed Lu arrived in March 2019 as a tourist but did not leave when his visa expired, or make efforts to extend it.

He will be temporarily held at the BI’s holding facility in Bicutan, Taguig City pending his deportation.

Morente said that despite the pandemic intelligence operatives are active in arresting undesirable visitors.

“Let this serve as a reminder to foreign nationals in the country to follow our laws or face deportation,” he added.
