P27M worth of shabu seized from Nigerian in Cavite drug bust


Combined elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency and the local police arrested a Nigerian who yielded more than P27 million worth of shabu in a buy-bust in Bacoor, Cavite on Tuesday night, Oct. 12.

In a report to PDEA Director General Wilkins M Villanueva, PDEA-4A Regional Director Melvin Estoque identified the suspect as Anthony John-Okafor 30, who is considered to be one of the major suppliers of shabu in Southern Tagalog, Metro Manila and Central Luzon.

Okafor’ yielded two brown paper bags containing four pieces of large resealable transparent plastic bag with more or less 4,000 grams of shabu.

Last Sept. 9, joint PDEA and PNP teams seized 229 kilograms of shabu worth P1.58 billion in separate buy-bust operations where two drug suspects were killed and two others were arrested.

At 9:15 p.m., a buy-bust operation was conducted at Block 6, Lot 2, Topacio Street, Phase 8, Barangay Magdalo, Bahayang Pag-asa, Imus, Cavite which led to the arrest of Lani B Micoleta, 45, and Aldwin M Micoleta, 47 where more or less 48 kilograms, one mobile phone, two IDs, two Metrobank Savings passbooks, one wallet and boodle money were confiscated from the suspects.

A few minutes later at 9:27 p.m. another buy-bust operation was made at Block 6, Lot 16 Springville Executive 1 Molino 3, Bacoor, Cavite where Basher P. Bangon, 50, from Cagayan De Oro City and Danilo T Untavar, 51, from Datu Esmael, Dasmarinas, Cavite were killed in the shootout.

The anti-narcotics teams recovered one kilogram of shabu (subject of the buy-bust) and another 180 kilograms in the immediate vicinity of the operation, two pistols and two identification cards (ID) during the said operation. (Chito A. Chavez)
