Blacklist Ultimate secures last playoff ticket with sweep of AFN Gaming

Blacklist International.Ultimate scored an emphatic 3-0 victory over AFN Gaming to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2021: CODM World Championships: Garena Qualifiers on Tuesday, October 12.

After missing a chance to book a spot in the playoffs after losing to M42 Esports earlier in the day, Blacklist made sure to catch the last bus when it swept the Taiwanese team with Ken “Kensh1” Ortiz spearheading the Filipinos with an average of 14.67 kills and six assists against nine deaths and a score of 2102.67

Blacklist went off to a hot start scoring 26-0 after capturing the first hardpoint of the Standoff. That blistering start set the tone for a dominating 150-58 victory for the Filipinos in Map 1.

AFN Gaming refused to go down without a fight as it took a 3-2 lead on the defender’s side in Search and destroy. Blacklist, though, came alive after the switch and hacked out a narrow 6-5 victory in Summit to secure the victory and a spot in the playoffs.

With the pressures now off their shoulders, Blacklist cruised to a 75-59 lead in the first half of Domination in Crossfire. The PH titlists continued to roll in the second half and capped the series with a 150-100 victory.

Blacklist actually had the chance to book a spot in the playoffs in its first match in Day 6. The Filipinos, however, got destroyed by Singapore’s M42 Esports, 3-0.
