CAGAYAN – A total of 11 individuals including two senior citizens and five children, were evacuated by rescue athorities of in the town of Gonzaga here Monday, October 12.
‘Isa isa silang itinawid Wangag River in Gonzaga matapos ang biglaang pagtaas ng tubig sa kanilang barangay na maaring magtrap sa kanila sakaling hindi pa sila umalis ng maaga (One by one they were assisted in crossing Wangag River in Gonzaga after the water in their village started to rise which could trap them if they don’t leave early enough), ‘ rescue team told.
They were evacuated to their relatives in Barangay Calayan and their needs were immediately provided by the authorities.
Meanwhile, the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (MDRRMO) of Claveria, Cagayan confirmed that a security guard died of drowning while conducting an inspection at a seaport in the area.
The victim was identified as Pedro Sanjilan, 27 , resident of Barangay Centro 3, Claveria.
