Fatima Avenue in Valenzuela City to undergo rehabilitation

The Valenzuela City government announced on Saturday, Oct. 9, the upcoming rehabilitation of Fatima Avenue.

According to Mayor Rex Gatchalian, the project aims to provide an open space for families to enjoy quality time and to let people reconnect with their surroundings amid the pandemic.

"Ang quality time ng pamilya dapat nasa pampublikong espasyo na open air, mga parks, para lang ma-enjoy nila ang kanilang pagiging pamilya (Family quality time should be done in open public air spaces, parks, so that they can enjoy being a family)," Gatchalian said.

He said Fatima Avenue will be closed to vehicles, making it pedestrian-friendly while maintaining health and safety guidelines.

The city government will also work on enhancements, adding new paving designs, street furniture kiosks and lighting systems in the street where three institutions are located - The National Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima, Museo De Valenzuela, and Fatima University.
