realme Philippines comes out with a new offering that is just in time for the the more active and physical resumption of business and learning -- the realme Book, a slim and light laptop powered by the latest Intel 11th Gen processors.
Recently unboxed, our TechNews staff was initially impressed how the sleek aluminum stylish exterior complemented its powerful interior, as advertised.
the realme Book is ultra light at 1.38 kg and ultra portable at 14.9 mm thin for easy backpack in-and-out. The smooth aluminum finish is claimed to have achieved via precision crafting worthy of the realme logo. Underneath are the well-placed intake vents, a speaker grill and raised rubber feet. The left side hosts a Thunderbolt port and one USB-C port while the other side fits USB Type-A port and the 3.5mm combo audio jack.
Do not be misled by its slim profile, the realme Book has a rigid frame feel -- the first thing you'll notice in opening.
And there it is, the large 14-inch 2K IPS LCD display with 3:2 aspect ratio, 400nits peak brightness, and 2160 x 1440 resolution. The bezels are very slim but enough to house a 720 webcam on top and the realme logo on the bottom. A 90 percent screen-to-body ratio is noted.
On the keyboard side is the power button that doubles as a fingerprint scanner to quickly unlock your laptop, typing a password no longer needed. The chiclet style keys feels “clicky.” A large trackpad is for navigation, supports Windows precision drivers and runs on Windows 10 -- upgradeable to Windows 11.
