The number of active coronavirus disease (COVID-19) cases is going down, although new infections climbed to more than 12,000 after a few days when the daily tallies were below 10,000.

Tropical cyclone wind signal number 2 was raised in some parts of Luzon as tropical storm Maring moved over the waters off Cagayan.

A House committee is also set to quiz fellows of the OCTA Research Group on the methodologies they are using to render credible analysis of the COVID-19 pandemic.
