CAGAYAN — Governor Manuel Mamba ordered the suspension of classes from pre-school to college level today, Monday, October 11 in both public and private schools.

The suspension was announced due to the bad weather caused by typhoon Maring.

“Ito ay upang mailayo sa panganib ang mga namamahagi ng mga modular paraphernalias at ang posible ditong pagkakawala ng mga internet connection sa mga online classes (This is to prevent any threats to those distributing modular paraphernalias and the possible loss of internet connection in online classes),” a statement posted on the CPIO Facebook page said.

The suspension will remain until revoked by the Office of the Governor.

Meanwhile, the red alert level has been raised in the entire province of Cagayan starting 5:00 a.m. this Monday, October 11.

This is in preparation for the possible impact of a tropical storm.
