Albay farmers get own hauling trucks from DAR


The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) has turned over two hauling trucks worth more than P10 million to help Albay farmers deliver their products to the market without paying hefty freight charges.

According to Bicol Regional Director Rodrigo Realubit, the beneficiaries of the farm new trucks are the Southern Legazpi Urban Barangays (SLUB) in Legazpi City and the Masarawag Composite Farmers' Association (MACFA) in Guinobatan.

“Apart from the convenience these machines will provide them, they will also gain bigger profit because they would save a lot of money in their transportation expenses,” Bicol Regional Director Rodrigo Realubit​ said in a statement Monday.​

He added that the trucks are part of the support facilities for ​agrarian reform beneficiarie​s under the Linking Smallholder Farmers to Markets with Microfinance (LinkSFarMM) program of the DAR, which helps small farmers increase their income and enter a larger market for their goods.
