Kiefer Ravena, Shiga repeat over Ibaraki

Kiefer Ravena and the Shiga Lakestars repeated over the Ibaraki Robots, 85-77, Sunday, Oct. 10 to complete a sweep of their two-game series in the B.League at the Ukaruchan Arena in Otsu, Japan.

Kiefer Ravena (Japan B. League)

Ravena had 11 points, including four in the final quarter, on 4-of-8 shooting with seven assists and two steals as the Lakestars improved to 3-1 through two weeks of hostilities in the Japanese league’s 2021-22 season.

Shiga had to fight off Ibaraki’s rally in the fourth to produce a win that was different compared to its 93-88 triumph the other day when Ravena and company erased an 11-point deficit.

Ibaraki, still playing without Javi Gomez de Liano, stayed winless after four outings.

Gomez de Liano is still under a 14-day quarantine period after arriving from Manila a few days ago.

His pair of baskets in the payoff period gave the Lakestars leads of 71-65 and 76-72, the last coming with 2:22 remaining.

Ibaraki cut it to one on a triple by Keita Tsurumaki but Ravena’s teammate Tomomasa Ozawa unloaded back-to-back threes that made it 81-75 for Shiga, 1:29 left in the contest

Novar Gadson and Sean O’Mara had 16 and 15 points for the Lakestars.
