A total of 37 candidates are running for mayor, vice mayor, and councilors in the Municipality of Pateros in the May 9, 2022 elections.
The Commission on Elections (Comelec) in Pateros released the names of candidates who filed their certificates of candidacy (COCs) by 5 p.m. of Oct. 8, the deadline.

According to Armando Mallorca, Pateros election officer, two candidates are running for mayor, two for vice mayor and 33 for councilors.
Incumbent Pateros Mayor Miguel “Ike” Ponce III, who is running for reelection under the Aksyon Demokratiko party, will be challenged by independent candidate Marilyn Chiong.
For vice mayor, the candidates are Ponce’s running mate John Peter Marzan of Aksyon Demokratiko and Carlo Santos of Nacionalista Party.
There are 33 candidates who filed their COCs for councilor. Pateros, the smallest local government unit in Metro Manila, has two districts and each district has six seats for councilors. District 1 has 17 candidates while District 2 has 16.
