Fernando thanked the 300 Bulakenyos who have received their first jab of COVID-19 vaccines and urged them to convince their relatives and friends to get inoculated.

He said the growing number of vaccinated people against COVID-19 in the province had reduced significantly the number of active cases.

But despite the decrease in the number of active cases, Fernando exhorted Bulakenyos to still continue to follow the minimum public health standards.

The Provincial Health Office (PHO) has logged 197 new COVID-19 cases, bringing the provincial tally to 78,287. Of the total, 75,606 or 96 percent have recovered, 1,351 or 2 percent are active cases, 283 are admitted in the hospitals, 257 are in Temporary Treatment and Monitoring Facilities (TTMF), while 811 are under home isolation

Fernando said the PHO has also recorded seven new deaths that brought the tally to 1,330.
