2 more inmates freed from SPPF

Two more inmates who have served their maximum jail terms and have been credited with good conduct time allowance (GCTA) were released last Oct. 3 from the Sablayan Prison and Penal Farm (SPPF) in Occidental Mindoro.

The Bureau of Corrections (BuCor) said the two persons deprived of liberty (PDLs) were freed on orders of Director General Gerald Q. Bantag.

They were “provided assistance to acquire travel requirements needed by the receiving local government units,” it said.

BuCor records also show that PDLs released last August included 223 from the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City; 35 from the Correctional Institution for Women (CIW) in Mandaluyong City; 24 from the SPPF; eight from the Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm (IPPF) in Palawan; 16 from the Leyte Regional Prison (LRP); 29 from the Davao Prison and Penal Farm; and four from the San Ramon Prison and Penal Farm (SRPPF) in Zamboanga.
