Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto thanked on Wednesday all those who supported him in his governance of the city and in his decision to seek re-election even as he renewed his call for clean politics during the election season.
"Maraming salamat sa mga nagpadama sa akin ng overwhelming support. Sinusubukan kong replyan ang bawat text mula nung filing ng COC (Certificate of Candidacy) (Thank you so much to all those who sent their overwhelming support for me. I am trying to reply to all your texts since my filing of COC)," Sotto said in his Facebook post.
Sotto also urged his supporters to observe six things as the election period nears. The mayor made the request after Pasig City Vice Mayor Iyo Bernardo announced his mayoralty bid in the 2022 elections.

"Ngayong meron nang nagdeklara na tatakbo rin bilang mayor, konting paalala/pakiusap lang sa mga supporter. Anim na bagay po ito (Now that someone has declared his bid, I would like to request my supporters to observe and follow these six things):
FOCUS pa rin tayo sa trabaho. Trabaho, bago politika. Kahit sa pormal na campaign period, mananatili akong full-time mayor (Let's remain focused on our job as mayor. Even during the formal campaign period, I'll remain a full-time mayor);
IWASAN natin ang "mudslinging". Kung tungkol sa trabaho o track record, sige pag-usapan natin (Dapat naman talagang suriin nang mabuti ang mga kandidato). Pero wag yung personalan o bastusan na (Let's avoid "mudslinging." If it's about the job or track record, let's talk about it (It's necessary to check our candidates). But let's not get to the point that we are disrespecting one another already);
MAGING MAPANURI, lalo na sa pekeng balita. Hindi porket may "quote" ay totoo na ito. (Alam niyo, yung gumagawa ng fake news at fake quotes noong 2019, halos sila pa rin yan ngayon (Let's be vigilant in discerning fake news. Not because it has a "quote" means it's already true. (Those who made the fake news and fake quotes last 2019, they are still the same ones doing it now);
KUMBINSIHAN, hindi pagdikta. Kapag may kaibigan tayong nakita niyo sa kabila, 'wag niyong pagalitan o takutin... Di ba kasama sa laban natin ang paggiba ng ganung klaseng politika (Let's convince one another, not dictate on one another. If we have friends from the other parties, please don't scare them or argue with them. This kind of politics is what we are striving to remove);
SUMUNOD TAYO sa mga alituntunin ng Comelec, lalo na sa health protocols. (Kung kailangan mag-meeting, dapat sa lugar na may bentilasyon at pasok sa IATF guidelines) (Let's follow the rules and regulations of Comelec (Commission on Election), especially in observing health protocols. (If we have to hold a meeting, it should be in a place with proper ventilation and approved under the IATF guidelines);
HINDI pa rin tayo gagastos ng malaki. Tandaan- ang gagastos ng malaki sa kampanya, ay malaki rin ang babawiin. (Ok lang tawagin akong kuripot, at least hindi magnanakaw. Ang importante, nagagamit sa tama at ng buo ang pera ng taumbayan (We are not going to spend too much in our campaign (It's alright to call me stingy, but at least I do not steal. What's important is that the money of the people will be used properly).
Sotto filed his COC last October 1, Friday.
