BACOLOD CITY – Antinarcotics agents seized some 150 grams of suspected shabu worth ₱1,020,000 and arrested a woman in a drug raid in Barangay Calindagan, Dumaguete City, Negros Oriental on Saturday.

Armed with a search warrant, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Negros Oriental, along with the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) raided the house of 25-year-old Jhaya Aguilar.

PDEA Negros Oriental head Francisfil Tangeres said that Aguilar was subjected to search warrant a er her elder sibling was arrested in a drug bust last month that resulted in the recovery of P680,000 worth of suspected shabu.

Tangeres said they found connection between the two in the alleged illegal drug trade.

Tangeres said they suspect that the recovered contraband from Aguilar may have been sourced out from a contact at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP) in Muntinlupa City, since her father was jailed there for a drug offense but was released in August this year.

Tangeres said the illegal drugs were then transported to the province through a courier service.

Thus, Tangeres said they are continuously intensifying their inspection in ports, and even in cargoes to prevent the entry of the contraband.
