ECOP to launch digital TV channel

The Employers Confederation of the Philippines (ECOP) is launching its own digital television channel which will air twice a month from October 2021 in various social media platforms such as Facebook and YouTube. It will also be aired simultaneously with an existing digital media platform with over 150,000 followers. The program will be called “ECOPlus: Amplifying Your Voice.”

“ECOP’s digital television channel will enable us to reach a larger audience and allow us to discuss important labor and social policy issues especially from the perspective of employers,” ECOP President Sergio Ortiz-Luis Jr. said.

Each segment of the episode will feature trends and practices on industrial relations, ECOP’s training calendar, testimonials of new members, and a raffle draw for the viewers. These are all meant to raise awareness on ECOP’s role, mandate, and services; discuss current, evolving and future workplace issues; and widen the reach of its engagement with employers, social partners, and other stakeholders.

“We will invite guests and resource persons from the business community, government, and even the trade union movement to put into proper perspective and generate various inputs from our tripartite partners in the hope of crystalizing a consensus on critical workplace issues not necessarily during the program but in other social dialogue mechanisms,” Ortiz-Luis noted.

The digital TV channel is made possible with the support of the Dutch Employers Cooperation Programme (DECP), which has an ongoing collaboration with ECOP on social dialogue and membership development.
