Petro Gazz star Panaga gets a 'Yes' from F2 Logistics hitter Morente

A special moment took place for volleyball stars Michelle Morente and Jeanette Panaga before 2020 came to a close. 

On New Year's Eve, the two players took the first step to tying the knot as Petro Gazz middle blocker Panaga made a marriage proposal to F2 Logistics opposite hitter Morente and got the sweet "Yes!" 

They posted the same photo on Instagram showing Morente holding on to Panaga's chest while emotionally looking at the beauty of the engagement ring she received. 

"2020 plot twist," Morente said in her caption while Panaga quipped, "My 2020." 

Morente and Panaga have been together since March 2019. 

Congratulatory remarks for the couple's engagement poured from their fellow volleyball stalwarts including Des Cheng, May Luna, Amanda Villanueva and Fille Cainglet-Cayetano. 

A former Ateneo volleybelle, Morente won two UAAP championships before switching to the green side at the De La Salle University where she suited up in the beach volleyball tilt and nabbed the silver with Tin Tiamzon. 

On the other hand, Panaga steered College of St. Benilde to its lone crown so far in the NCAA back in 2016 when she also copped the Finals MVP. 

Panaga sustained her stellar play in the PVL, winning multiple titles with Pocari Sweat and later on Petro Gazz while also getting hailed as Best Blocker thrice.

Whatever hardships Morente and Panaga endured in the pandemic-stricken 2020, they proved that in the end, love still wins.
