Manila Mayor Francisco “Isko Moreno” Domagoso on Monday assured that minimum basic needs of the people will be addressed in his “Bilis Kilos” campaign.
“In the coming days, we’ll present it to you — ‘yung ating tinatapos na platform of governance. We’re studying it carefully and we are going to address it surgically. Rest assured, we will invest in HDI and minimum basic needs,” said Moreno during the virtual national convention of Aksyon Demokratiko on Monday, Sept. 27, where he was also officially named as the party’s standard bearer.
“Doon tatakbo ang pamamahala — edukasyon, kalusugan, pabahay, trabaho (That’s where management will run — education, health, housing, jobs),” he added.
Domagoso, meanwhile, also reminded the members of his political party to always show respect.
“Kung gusto talaga natin mabago, hindi natin sila kailangang tularan. Pero hindi tayo takot sa kanila. Ang pagiging magalang, hindi kaduwagan ‘yun. Yung pagiging magalang, may mga pamamaraan para sagutin ang mga tolonges na ‘yan (If we really want to change, we don’t have to imitate them. But we are not afraid of them. Being polite is not cowardice. Being polite, there are ways to answer them),” he said.
“I want you to be respectful to the point of view ng iba (of others), but firm, fair,” he added.
Domagoso also told his party to “carry on” as they will be facing hard opponents.
“Sa lahat sainyo, sa mga organisasyon, sa mga kasamahan natin sa partido, carry on. Go duplicate. Magparami tayo. At the end of the day, mabigat itong laban natin. Tayo, we rose from the run, ‘yung mga kalaban natin kumain na lang sa mga lamesa na nilakad ng kanilang mga magulang na pangulo (To all of you, to the organizations, to our party members, carry on. Go duplicate. Let’s multiply. At the end of the day, it’s hard for us. We rose from the run, our opponents just ate on the tables prepared by their presidential parents)”, he said.
“I don’t think they really understand the situation of our constituency. They can only create a motherhood statement para makiliti ang mga tainga ng ating bayan. But we, in Aksyon, [are] honest enough, selling prototypes, actions taken,” Domagoso added.
On Wednesday, Sept. 22, Domagoso officially announced his presidential bid in the 2022 national elections.
