Simone Nadine Bornilla was finally able to wear her prom gown for one of the photoshoots at the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 Competition.
Bornilla, 18, who is representing Marinduque, revealed that one of her gowns in the Miss Universe Philippines 2021 pageant was supposed to be her evening wear during her Junior Promenade event at the Colegio San Agustin in Makati City two years ago.
But something came up, and she wasn’t able to wear the gown designed by Roy Aquino.
“Now, I know why it happened, which is — this gown should be worn for a shoot for Miss Universe Philippines 2021. Who would have thought during that time that the gown I was not able to wear has this purpose of joining me in this exciting journey to be a queen?” Nadine said.

“However, I was not able to due to unforeseen circumstances. Now, I know why it happened, which is — this gown should be worn for a shoot for Miss Universe Philippines 2021.
“Who would have thought during that time that the gown I was not able to wear has this purpose of joining me in this exciting journey to be a queen? Let’s all believe in the purposes of all things. Everything happens for a reason,” she said.
Famed photographer Raymond Saldana said Nadine’s gown was truly “perfect for the shoot.”
A few days before the coronation night, parents Dr. Jumel Bornilla and Manix Genabe wrote inspiring messages to their daughter Nadine.
“My message to Nadine is to soar high and while on your way up, always choose kindness. Wag ka mang-aapak nang kapwa anak Habang paakyat Ka, grab every opportunity to help. Never lose your soul over caprices. Relationships are more important over anything else. Build bridges instead of walls and never ever forget to give thanks to all the people who contributed in your journey,” Dr. Jumel said.
“Nadine, always remember to be compassionate at all times. This way you will be able to see the reason of chaos of everything, thus finding its meaning. Always remember that we are here behind you, not only your family, but the entire province of Marinduque. We trust that you will continue to be the inspiring, phenomenal woman that this pageant has molded you into. Do not forget the people that helped you along the way. Pick kindness at the crossroads of choice. Always do what is right, in your eyes and in the eyes of God. We love you, and we are so proud of you!” wrote Genabe.
