P68-M worth of ‘shabu’ seized, 2 arrested in Las Piñas drug busts


Combined elements of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) seized some P68 million worth of shabu following the arrest of two alleged drug pushers during two separate raids in Las Piñas City on Saturday, Sept. 25.

PDEA agent Blaine Canlas said that anti-narcotics men arrested Jealal Shaikalabi Mimbalawag, 23, of Quiapo, Manila and confiscated five kilograms of shabu along C-5 Extension, Barangay Manuyo I at around 5 p.m.

On the same day, a follow-up operation was conducted where Arabilla Leano, 29 was apprehended and another five kilograms of shabu was seized from him in Countryhomes, Woodsrow-1, Talon Dos.

Aside from shabu concealed in Chinese labeled tea packs, the PDEA and PNP teams confiscated the buy-bust money and vehicle used by the suspect.

The pieces of evidence were brought to the PDEA Laboratory Service for qualitative and quantitative analysis while the suspects are now temporarily detained at the PDEA Jail Facility and will be charged for violation of the Republic Act (RA) 9165, or the “The Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.’’
