CEBU CITY — A resident in Biliran Province got the shock of his life when the amount of his monthly electric bill reached more than P1 million.
In his September 4 Facebook post, Marvin Alemanza showed an electric bill from the Biliran Electric Cooperative (Bileco) totaling to P1,234,264.97.
If paid after the due date, the bill would reach P1,271,292.92.
Alemanza’s post was shared by Facebook user Biliran Balita.
In the post, Alemanza, who resides in Tucdao, Kawayan, said his regular monthly bill was only P1,000 plus.
Manila Bulletin reached out to Alemanza but opted not to comment on the issue anymore.
“Bileco has communicated with me. I am no longer allowed to talk about it,” Alemanza said in Tagalog.
