Based on the latest Opensignal report, Smart has been ranked amongst the top wireless networks in the world when it comes to video experience. The mobile services provider has been called Global Leader for 5G Video Experience as was recognized for its 5G Global Impact sweeping all measurement aspects of 5G Video Experience, Games Experience, Download Speed & Upload Speed.
Smart is the only Philippine operator in Opensignal’s roster of 5G Global Leaders. For those who can’t live without video streaming, it’s important to note that Opensignal's 5G Video Experience uses a combination of real-world measurements of video streams from smartphone users over an operator's 5G network — including picture quality, stall rate and loading time — to reflect users’ perceived video experience using an International Telecommunication Union (ITU) derived approach.
The network recorded a score of 81.6 Smart as 5G Global Leader and is currently ranked alongside other 5G Global Leaders, such as South Korean national operators — SK Telecom, KT and LG U+, AIS in Thailand, and other operators from Hong Kong and Taiwan.
Meanwhile, this is the first time Opensignal ranked 5G operators globally by assessing their real-world 5G mobile network experience.
Notably, across all the video 5G Global Winners and 5G Global Leaders networks users reported an Excellent (75 or above) 5G Video Experience.
Smart has also been cited by third-party analytics firm Ookla as the fastest 5G mobile network in the Philippines for Q1-Q2 2021.
