‘It’s Okay to Not Be Okay,’ reality show ‘I-Land’ nominated for Int’l Emmy Awards


The 2020 Korean drama “It’s Okay to Not Be Okay” and the reality show “I-Land” bagged nominations at the 2021 International Emmy Awards.

A total of 44 nominees in 11 categories from 24 countries were announced on Sept. 23 by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.

“It’s Okay to Not Be Okay,” which starred Kim Soo-hyun and Seo Ye-ji, is nominated for TV Movie/Mini-series. Other nominees are “Atlantic Crossing” (Norway), “Des” (United Kingdom) and “Todas As Mulheres do Mundo (All the Women in the World)” (Brazil).

“I-Land,” the reality show that brought K-pop boy band ENHYPEN, bagged a nomination for Non-Scripted Entertainment. Other nominees are “Da’s Liefde! ” (Belgium), “¿Quién es la Máscara? – Season 2” (Mexico) and “The Masked Singer” (United Kingdom).

“We are so proud of our Nominees and the record-breaking number of countries,” said International Academy president and CEO Bruce Paisner. “To those who feared the pandemic would slow TV production around the world, this is your answer.”

This year’s nominees came from Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Chile, China, Colombia, Egypt, France, India, Israel, Japan, Lebanon, Mexico, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Thailand, the United Kingdom and the United States.

All nominated program trailers and exclusive nominee interviews will be featured online during the International Emmy World Television Festival from Nov. 12 to 22 on the International Academy’s website www.iemmys.tv.

Winners will be announced in a ceremony to be held on Nov. 22 in New York City.
